Qualification Requirements
A qualifying university degree in the fiedls of American Studies, Brith Studies or Anglophone Studies or a university degreein a literary and culturally oriented study program, acquired at a German university, or an equivalent university degree acquired abroad, in which at least 30 credit points (or equivalent achievements in a non-modularized study program) were gained in the field of literary or culturally oriented studies. At least 15 credit points out of these 30 credit points must be gained in connetion with North American issues. In case these North American issues are not listed explicitly in the certificate or the transcipt of records, the applicant is required to hand in other appropriate documents to prove them. If the requirements stated above are not met, the examination board will decide on a case-by-case basis. The examination board can require the subsequent completion of additional subject-specific modules of up to 12 credit points. In this case the course of studies may need more time.
