Advanced Optical Technologies
Subjects: Optical
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Optical technologies are crucial in many technical fields that drive future advancements in technology and society. One prime example is optical data transmission, which forms the backbone of the Internet. These technologies are also pivotal in information and communication technology, medicine, car manufacturing, and energy and environmental technology. The Elite degree program, taught entirely in English, aims to provide top-tier students with an interdisciplinary Master’s degree that has a global outlook. The MAOT degree program builds on a Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering. In the first semester, students learn the fundamentals of optics, focusing on laser technology. During the second and third semesters, students can specialize in two or three of seven practical areas: optical metrology, optical materials and systems, optical material processing, computation optics, optics in medicine, optics in communication and IT, and the physics of light. This program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in various high-tech industries. By offering a comprehensive curriculum and opportunities for specialization, the MAOT degree program prepares graduates to contribute significantly to technological and societal advancements.
