Water Science
Subjects: Water Science
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Water is one of the most precious resources on earth. Meeting the growing demands for safe, clean, and affordable potable water requires a deep interdisciplinary understanding of water quality and advanced, sustainable treatment methods. The master course in Water Science aims to provide comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the natural science aspects of aquatic systems, with a focus on chemistry, microbiology, and analytics. The curriculum includes essential modules in analytical chemistry, applied microbiology, biofouling/biocorrosion, chemometrics, environmental microbiology, and water chemistry. Students must complete three practical courses within these areas. Additionally, 32 out of the 90 credit points (CPs) are allocated to optional courses, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific water-related topics of interest. This program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to address the challenges of water quality and treatment, fostering an environment of trust, understanding, and inclusivity. By focusing on practical and theoretical aspects, the course prepares graduates to make significant contributions to the field of water science.
