Course description
The Faculty of East Asian Studies, established in 1965, aims to invigorate research and teaching in this field. Our study programs equip students to explore East Asia comprehensively and across various academic disciplines. We focus on China, Japan, and Korea, employing diverse methodologies from history, literature, philology, philosophy, political science, linguistics, and economics. Recognizing the importance of language skills, we offer extensive and thorough instruction in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, covering both modern and ancient forms. Our graduates possess linguistic proficiency, discipline-specific knowledge, cultural understanding, and analytical skills, preparing them for diverse professional paths. English from 5th grade until Abitur in Germany a minimum score of 72 in the internet-based TOEFL a minimum score of 5.0 in the IELTS a certificate of the language centre of Heidelberg University with "good" (2.0) or better
