Physics
Subjects: Physics
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Students delve into various subdisciplines of physics, gaining both knowledge and practical skills. They also learn to produce scientific work independently. Proficiency in German and/or English at Level B2, as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is essential. Most courses are conducted in English. Students have the option to take oral exams and write their Master’s thesis in either German or English. During the advanced specialization stage, students acquire in-depth knowledge in key research areas within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. These areas include solid state physics, quantum optics, and gravitation. Radioecology and radiation protection are also potential topics of study. The program is further enriched by an interdisciplinary compulsory elective subject, broadening the scope of learning and research. This structure ensures that students are well-prepared for the independent production of scientific work in physics, equipping them with the necessary expertise and skills.
