Technical University of Dortmund
Dortmund
Chemical Biology
Subjects: Chemistry;Biology;Science
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
In the Master's degree program, students delve into the molecular aspects of biosciences to better understand biological processes and master targeted chemical manipulation. They learn modern biotechnology and bioanalytics methods and their practical applications. Through compulsory elective lectures, practicals, and seminars in chemical biology, cell biology, and medicinal chemistry, students enhance their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research-relevant topics. They can also take courses in chemistry or other natural or non-scientific subjects. Students choose a specialization, engaging in current research through a research internship, and demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research in their Master's thesis. This thesis, which takes six months to complete, marks the culmination of the program. Studying abroad for one or two semesters is a viable option, with comparable achievements gained abroad easily credited due to the program's flexibility.
