Course description
The Bachelor programme "Air Traffic Management – dual (B.Sc.)" merges academic study with hands-on vocational training in partnership with DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. Conducted in English, this course blends practical air traffic control training with a business-focused curriculum, equipping students with diverse skills. Graduates gain a versatile skill set, opening doors to various career paths beyond traditional air traffic control roles. Over six semesters, students split their time between Hochschule Worms and the Air Navigation Services Academy in Langen. The initial three semesters are spent at Hochschule Worms, where students attend lectures and work in the DFS commercial department. After the third semester, students begin their Initial Training in air traffic control, culminating in a student air traffic controller licence by the end of the fifth semester. During this period, they also participate in a specialised seminar on air traffic at the university. In the sixth semester, students focus on their Bachelor’s thesis while engaging in on-site practical training at DFS offices, known as Unit Training. This comprehensive programme ensures that graduates are well-prepared for a range of professional opportunities in the air traffic management field.
