Course description
The international Master's degree program "Human Computer Interaction" is a full-time, four-semester course designed for those who have completed a Bachelor's degree. As IT artefacts become integral to daily life and work, this program focuses on the design, implementation, acquisition, and evaluation of user-friendly and efficient software systems. A key aspect of the studies is the design of IT artefacts that support human activities. To achieve this, students need foundational skills in interaction techniques, especially for mobile and ubiquitous applications. The curriculum covers interface design, user-oriented design processes, usability standards, qualitative analysis methods, and integrated organization and technology development. In addition to these core subjects, the program includes required modules in media studies, media law, business administration, psychology, and art. The University of Siegen's active research in Human Computer Interaction ensures that students benefit from a close integration of research and teaching.
