In order to study successfully, it is important that you already have basic language skills in English. Therefore, the entry requirement for a bachelor's degree in English/American Studies is passing an aptitude test or proof of equivalent achievement. The exam is written and covers the areas of orthography, vocabulary and grammar. In addition, it is necessary to have knowledge of British and US history, literature and culture. In addition, knowledge of Latin (Latinum) or a Romance language must be proven for at least three years of school lessons. Alternatively, these language certificates can be obtained through language courses at the Language Center of the University of Potsdam or other university institutions until the end of the bachelor's degree.
