Sociology: Dynamics of Social Change
Subjects: Sociology;Dynamics of Change;Social Change
M.A. | Master of Arts
Course description
In the first two semesters, students engage in a scientifically sound core curriculum that lays the foundation for their studies. The modules delve into the structures of social differentiation, examining how cultural dimensions influence their reproduction or transformation. They also explore different forms of capitalism, the evolution of welfare state regimes, and the organization of social work. In the second year, students have the opportunity to broaden their focus. They can choose from a wide range of elective options, particularly from other master's programs within the department, to include subjects like political science, European studies, and migration topics. The mandatory research seminar allows students to undertake smaller research projects, providing practical experience and preparing them for their master's thesis. This course of study is designed to be comprehensive and flexible, ensuring that students gain a deep understanding of their chosen fields while also having the freedom to tailor their education to their interests.
