Technology & Application of Inorganic Engineering Materials
Subjects: Materials Science;Technology
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
Inorganic engineering materials, such as steel and ceramics, are crucial for strategic industries. They play a key role in transportation, energy technology, machine and plant construction, and the building industry. Understanding their mechanical, thermal, chemical, and functional properties at nano-, micro-, and macro-levels, along with the chemical and physical interactions at interfaces and surfaces, is essential for their ongoing development and technological optimization. In the first semester, core modules cover metallic, ceramic, and refractory materials, thermodynamics, and mechanics of materials. Students also receive training in particle technology and fluid dynamics. The second and third semesters offer advanced modules and further skills training in the technology and applications of materials, as well as the simulation of metallurgical processes. Through laboratory and practical courses, students learn to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world applications. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master thesis. This structured approach ensures that students gain a comprehensive understanding of inorganic engineering materials, preparing them for successful careers in various strategic industries.
