Course description

The master’s program in Business Informatics, taught in English, is interdisciplinary. It merges Informatics with Business Administration, offering you the chance to delve deeper into both fields. You decide which area to emphasize more. The program stresses applying theory to practice, collaborating with esteemed corporate partners. A key component is the team project. Over one or two semesters, you gain expertise and develop social skills like project management and teamwork. The program culminates in a master’s thesis, often written in partnership with a company.

Language Requirements

A first degree that was completed with at least 50 percent of English as a language of instruction and examination English-language university entrance qualification Continuous attendance of English classes throughout the German secondary school education with a minimum average of 7 points. TOEFL Internet Based Test (TOEFL iBT) with a score of at least 72 points (Test Date Score) First Certificate in English (FCE), grade C or better Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), IELTS (Academic Test) with a band score of 6.0 or better Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) with a minimum score of 500 points. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test with a total score that is equivalent to at least 500 GMAT points, Language Certificate of the Studium Generale of the University of Mannheim with at least Level B2 throughout

Qualification Requirements

Completion of a bachelor’s program in Business Economics, or a bachelor’s program in Economics, Business Administration or Informatics recognized as equivalent at a German or national higher education institution (also Berufsakademie), corresponding to at least 180 ECTS credits or a regular period of study of at least three years A program of study is recognized as equivalent if it includes at least 30 ECTS credits in the field of informatics, 30 ECTS credits in the field of business or business informatics and 18 ECTS credits in the field of mathematics or statistics. At least 8 ECTS credits in the field of informatics must have been completed in the field of programming
