Course description

Graduate studies require an undergraduate university degree. The Master’s programme in Computer and Information Science at the University of Konstanz focuses on the computer-assisted processing of large data volumes. It aims to equip students with the knowledge needed to develop complex information and analysis systems. These systems combine automatic data analysis procedures with interactive visualization. To make these systems both technically feasible and user-friendly, students need a solid understanding of various methods and technologies from different branches of computer science. This includes: - Information system development: databases, software engineering, and networks. - Visualization: computer graphics and computer vision. - Data analysis: data mining and visual analytics. - Algorithms: network science and signal processing. - Information science: interaction design and information retrieval. The programme is designed for those interested in creating systems that integrate these diverse elements, ensuring they are both effective and easy to use.
