The MA programme in Religious Studies offers a deep dive into the diverse religious traditions of Europe, both historical and contemporary. This course blends methodologies from History, Religious Studies, and Cultural Studies to explore religion's role in Europe's multifaceted societies and their global connections through a postcolonial lens. Students can specialize in General Religious Studies, Jewish Studies, Islamic Studies, or the Cultural History of Orthodox Christianity. Each specialization is led by a dedicated professor and a team of young researchers. The Department of Religious Studies is part of the Research Area “Religion – Society – World-Relations” at the University of Erfurt.
