Course description

The M.Sc. Computational Sciences is an interdisciplinary program offered by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. This program aims to equip students with the skills to tackle new questions in natural sciences using advanced computational methods. Students will gain expertise in a specific area of natural sciences while mastering techniques in simulation and modeling, data science (including machine learning), applied mathematics, and computer science. The program offers five areas of specialization: 1. Computational Astro- and Space Physics 2. Computational Biology 3. Earth System Sciences 4. Theoretical Chemistry 5. Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics In this program, students will delve into the scientific knowledge of their chosen specialization. They will also learn cutting-edge computational techniques. This dual focus ensures that graduates are well-prepared to address complex scientific problems with innovative solutions. The curriculum is designed to foster a deep understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of computational sciences, making it a comprehensive and robust educational experience.
