Transnational Law (Hanse Law School)
Subjects: Law;Transnational Law
LL.M. | Master of Laws
Course description
Modern societies are increasingly shaped by social, economic, and legal relationships that transcend traditional national boundaries. Markets have outgrown their national regulatory systems and international policy coordination. Transnational corporations, organizations, and networks operating across borders are interacting in new ways and setting new governance standards. Transnational migration, mobility, and advances in information and communication technology are changing public discourse and thinking. The contagion effects of financial crises, climate change, and other major developments expose the interdependencies of modern societies through uncoordinated transnational activities. These require new institutional responses. This master's program addresses this phenomenon, known as transnationalization, and its impact on the development of law. In this program, students will explore subjects such as international policy coordination, transnational corporations, and the effects of transnational migration. They will also delve into the role of information and communication technology in shaping public discourse. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these elements interact and influence legal frameworks. By studying these topics, students will gain insights into the complexities of modern governance and the need for new institutional responses. This program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and address the challenges posed by transnationalization.
