Course description
The two-year master’s programme in Economics at the University of Bayreuth equips students with advanced economic analysis methods and their practical applications. Graduates gain a solid grasp of contemporary theoretical and empirical economic techniques, learning to apply these to real-world issues. Courses are delivered at a high academic standard, predominantly in English, with lecture and seminar materials also primarily in English. Students engage deeply with the logic and precision of globally recognized economic research. They develop the ability to understand and critically assess economic discussions from the past, present, and future. This prepares them to act responsibly, appreciating the benefits and challenges of a free market-based, constitutional democratic state. They enhance their skills in scrutinizing and evolving models of economic and political economic interactions. The programme offers an interdisciplinary approach, allowing connections with the University of Bayreuth’s master’s programmes in Business Administration and Health Economics. It also provides flexibility for students to explore interests beyond economics, fostering a broad and deep perspective essential for creating sustainable solutions to complex economic and social issues.
