Subjects: Geoscience;Archaeology;Technology
M.Eng. | Master of Engineering
Course description
Archaeology explores the material remains of human history. The role of applied sciences and technologies in this field is growing. At HTW Dresden, an interdisciplinary team offers a Master's Degree to enhance skills and cooperation between archaeology, computer science, and geosciences. This program aims to upskill archaeology graduates by providing training in computer science and geosciences methods. Students will learn to use spatial and object-focused technologies like GIS, remote sensing, and 3D documentation and processing. They will also focus on research data management, emphasizing open data policies and linked open data. Additionally, the curriculum covers knowledge dissemination, public outreach, and legal and ethical standards. Students can participate in research projects with cooperating institutions, gaining field and research experience. This hands-on approach prepares them to address problems and develop solutions for archaeology and cultural heritage institutions and companies.
