M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
The International Master of Advanced Methods in Particle Physics (IMAPP) is a collaborative degree program offered by the University of Bologna in Italy, the University of Clermont Auvergne in France, and TU Dortmund in Germany. This program is supported by globally recognized partner institutions. It focuses on both experimental and theoretical particle physics. The curriculum is built on three core areas, each managed by one of the universities. These areas are machine learning and statistical data analysis, instrumentation and detector physics, and scientific computing and programming. Training in these subjects forms a significant part of the program. Courses are conducted in English. Students progress through the program as a cohort, starting their first semester at the University of Clermont Auvergne, moving to TU Dortmund for the second semester, and then to the University of Bologna for the third semester. In the fourth semester, students work on a master's thesis, which can be completed at any of the three universities or at one of the associated partner institutions.
