Course description
Modern urban infrastructures, such as housing, office buildings, and transportation routes, are intricate socio-technological systems. These systems consist of numerous natural, technical, and social components that interact dynamically. Planning, constructing, operating, and maintaining these infrastructures are complex tasks. Intelligent computer-based modeling methods are essential to support these processes. The Master's degree program in Civil Systems Engineering is designed to address these challenges. This research-oriented program trains students to manage complex technical design processes. As systems engineers, students learn to use digital methods that integrate empirical and theoretical simulation methods across system boundaries. This integration is crucial for effective design and planning. Study subjects in this program include advanced modeling techniques, systems integration, and simulation methods. Students gain expertise in managing the multifaceted aspects of urban infrastructure projects. They become adept at using digital tools to streamline and enhance the planning and construction processes. By the end of the program, graduates are well-equipped to tackle the complexities of modern urban infrastructure. They possess the skills and knowledge to ensure that these systems function efficiently and sustainably. This program fosters a deep understanding of the interconnected nature of urban systems, preparing students to become leaders in the field.
