Subjects: Meteorology
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
The Master of Science in Meteorology is designed to deepen your understanding of atmospheric physics and its practical applications. You can choose from a wide range of elective courses that focus on research topics from the Meteorological Institute Munich and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich. You can start the Master’s program in either the winter semester (October-February) or the summer semester (April-July) each year. Admission is managed by both the Faculty of Physics and the LMU International Office. If you are a non-EU applicant, you will need to follow specific guidelines provided by the International Office. Currently, you must enroll with both organizations simultaneously. The International Office handles university enrollment (Immatrikulation), while the Faculty of Physics manages the subject-specific assessment for the courses offered. Application deadlines are January 15 for the summer semester and July 15 for the winter semester. This program offers a robust curriculum that equips you with specialized knowledge and skills, preparing you for a career in meteorology and atmospheric sciences.
