Course description

The M.Sc. program in Quantum Engineering spans two years. In the first year, students dive into a comprehensive curriculum of lectures, seminars, and lab courses. This phase builds on their B.Sc.-level knowledge, expanding and deepening their understanding. In the second year, students engage in a hands-on project within a faculty research team. Under the guidance of a professor or senior scientist, they work on a specific topic in quantum engineering, culminating in a master thesis. This program aligns with the Bologna process of the European Higher Education Area. Students will take courses in both experimental and theoretical physics. They will also participate in an advanced seminar and an advanced lab course. A broad range of elective courses is available, many of which cover current research topics. These electives are taught by active researchers, providing students with insights that prepare them for their own research endeavors. Students are encouraged to reach out to potential thesis supervisors early. This helps them choose lectures that best prepare them for their chosen thesis topic.
