M.A. | Master of Arts
Course description
Heinrich Heine University offers an international Master's programme in European Studies. This programme aims to educate students on the workings of the European Union and how it has established a "working peace" in Europe after centuries of conflict. A unique aspect of this programme is its focus on linking Europe and the Middle East. There are two main reasons for this focus. First, the Middle East needs more experts on European affairs. The EU is strengthening its ties with the region through the European Neighbourhood Policy. Second, understanding and experiencing Europe's "working peace" could aid the peace process in the Middle East. The programme covers various study subjects, including European politics, economics, and law. It also delves into the history and culture of Europe, providing a comprehensive understanding of the continent. By studying these subjects, students gain valuable insights into how the EU operates and how its principles can be applied to foster peace and cooperation in other regions. This Master's programme is designed to be inclusive and accessible, fostering an atmosphere of trust and understanding. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute positively to the relationship between Europe and the Middle East. Through this programme, students can play a crucial role in promoting peace and stability in both
