The study programme is crafted around the insight that modern societies are increasingly shaped by scientific and technological advancements. These changes deeply impact social and political systems and our self-perception. Therefore, they require thorough analysis, a task for which philosophy is perfectly suited. Philosophy encourages reflection on the conceptual foundations of the sciences and examines the role of values in science and the sources of scientific credibility. This Master’s Programme aims to equip students with the skills to engage in critical reflection on the sciences. The programme offers courses in key areas of contemporary philosophy, such as metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, and moral and political philosophy. There is a particular emphasis on the philosophy and ethics of science.
