Food Technology

B.Sc. | Bachelor of Science
Course description
Most of the food we buy in the supermarket is made in factories. Agricultural raw materials like cereals go through many processing stages and undergo chemical, physical, and microbiological changes before they are ready to be sold as food. This is why food technology is an interdisciplinary engineering science. The Bachelor’s program in Food Technology offers students practical training based on academic principles. It covers technological, technical, economic, and scientific aspects throughout the food chain, from farm to fork, following ecological and nutritional criteria. Students will study subjects that include food processing, food safety, and quality management. They will also learn about the economic aspects of food production and the scientific principles behind food technology. This program prepares students to understand and manage the complexities of food production, ensuring that the food we eat is safe, nutritious, and sustainable.
