Eberhard Karls University Tubingen
Tübingen
Molecular Cell Biology & Immunology
Subjects: Molecular Cell Biology;Immunology
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
The master's program in Molecular Cell Biology & Immunology (MCBI) delves into the intricate processes that govern cellular and immunological functions in humans and animals. This specialization emphasizes a thorough scientific exploration of molecular mechanisms that regulate cell behavior and functions, which can lead to diseases when they malfunction. Students in this program study model organisms like Drosophila and Caenorhabditis, as well as animal or human single-cell cultures. Through these experimental subjects, they derive insights into cell functions, cell structure, cell differentiation, and organ development. The program also places a strong focus on immunological processes, particularly those related to disease-related dysfunctions such as immunodeficiencies and tumor immunology. By understanding these complex biological systems, students gain the knowledge needed to contribute to advancements in medical science and healthcare. The MCBI program equips them with the skills to investigate and address critical issues in cellular and immunological health, fostering a deeper comprehension of how these processes impact overall well-being.
