Step 1 - Find your Study Program
Eberhard Karls University Tubingen
Tübingen
Interdisciplinary American Studies
Subjects: American Studies
B.A. | Bachelor of Arts
Course description
The B.A. program in Interdisciplinary American Studies (IAS) offers a robust core curriculum in literary and cultural studies. It also provides a flexible elective curriculum that includes history, political science, media studies, and sociology. The program is taught by a dedicated staff, including three full professors in American Studies. The IAS program equips students with tools and approaches from various disciplines to foster a critical understanding of the American experience in a global context. A standout feature of the IAS program is the Mobility Option. Students can extend their studies by a year to study at one of our American partner universities or undertake an internship in Germany or abroad. The program's strong English-language component includes intensive writing skills, advanced translation, and oral communication courses. This prepares IAS students to express themselves in excellent English at a near-native level.
