The Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies (SuRE) Master Programme, previously known as the Postgraduate Programme in Renewable Energy (PPRE), has been a cornerstone of the Institute of Physics at the University of Oldenburg since 1987. This 24-month degree has seen over 560 students from around 90 countries, including regions like Africa, Asia, Central and South America, as well as Germany and other industrialized nations, successfully complete their studies. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects essential for mastering renewable energy technologies. Students delve into areas such as solar energy, wind energy, bioenergy, and energy storage systems. The program also emphasizes the importance of energy policy, sustainability, and the socio-economic impacts of renewable energy. By offering a comprehensive education in these critical areas, the SuRE Master Programme equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to drive the global transition to sustainable energy. Applicants must have successfully completed a regular academic programme in Engineering or Science (e.g. Physics, Mech. Eng., Electr. Eng.) Applicants have to provide certified proof of their English language competence (e.g. TOEFL, see below) Professional experience in the field of or related to (Renewable) Energy and/or Rural Development is appreciated; mandatory for DAAD applicants.
