M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
The Aalen master's degree program, M.Sc. Vision Science and Business (Optometry), comprehensively covers all clinical and optometric components B, C, and D of the European Diploma Optometry (EDO). This ensures that graduates meet the highest standards of Swiss optometry and earn an internationally recognized Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. Classes are primarily taught in English by esteemed professors from our partner institution, Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. The program is designed for part-time study, allowing students to maintain full-time employment. Typically, it spans four semesters, or two years. Instruction includes direct classroom sessions and laboratory workshops, held once a month over an extended weekend from Friday to Tuesday. Whenever possible, these sessions are also available online at a high level of quality. Notably, parts of the Pharmacology lectures are delivered online by the highly respected and skilled Prof. Lorne Yudcovitch, OD. This structure ensures that students receive a robust education while balancing their professional commitments. The program's blend of in-person and online learning, coupled with expert instruction, prepares graduates for advanced roles in optometry.
